Fun weekend events happening in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday and you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at some of the events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend.

Friday and Saturday are the Lauderdale County Tomato Festival. This is held in the Downtown Square in Ripley. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

Friday night is the second concert in the Live at the Garden Series. Tonight’s show features a 90s rock band, the Goo Goo Dolls. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.

The Memphis Summer Cocktail Festival is Friday night. This is held at the Kent on Kent Avenue from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. You will be able to try 12 fun-size summer cocktails while enjoying some music.

Saturday you can help the Memphis Made Brewing Company bid farewell to its Midtown location. The Cooper Street location is closing but you can help send the space out in style. The party is from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. The new Downtown taproom opens July 20.

The Memphis Redbirds are celebrating Christmas in July Saturday. At Saturday night’s game, the first 1,500 people will get a free present from Santa himself– a Masyn Winn bobblehead. Kids will also be able to visit with and write letters to Santa, decorate holiday cookies, and more.

Sunday night, you can end the week enjoying a sunset jazz concert at Court Square. This is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. It is free to attend.
