Gabby Douglas wears a sheer dress and rocks new ombre hair on the red carpet
Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas may be more comfortable in athleisure, but she also knows how to work a red carpet.
Douglas attended the Women’s Sports Foundation’s 38th Annual Salute To Women in Sports Awards Gala in N.Y.C. Wednesday night. For the black-tie occasion, Douglas stepped out in a dress featuring sheer lace and embroidery. Pops of red and gray took the textured dress to the next level. She finished the look with a perfectly undone ponytail and seriously glowing highlighter on her cheekbones.
Proceeds from the event went to the Women’s Sports Foundation, which works towards equality and access for women and girls in sports. This year, honorees included the U.S. Women’s National Hockey Team, Condoleezza Rice, and Douglas’s fellow Olympic champion Katie Ledecky.
Douglas also debuted her new ombre hair at the event. Ahead of the evening, she wrote, “ombré always makes a girl happy” on Instagram. Her deep brunette color fades to a subtle golden brown. It looks so good it makes us forget that we thought we’d overdosed on ombre.
