Gabrielle Union Just Shared an At-Home Workout, and Now I Know Why Her Butt’s so Toned

From Prevention

  • Gabrielle Union just shared her at-home workout routine on Instagram Stories.

  • Her butt and abs look super toned in the videos, and her exercises explain why.

  • The 47-year-old actress does multiple dumbbell exercises and planks to stay fit.

Gabrielle Union took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to show off her at-home workout routine, which is mostly strength exercises featuring dumbbells. (Without the dumbbells, these moves work as bodyweight exercises.) Wearing a marbled crop-top and leggings set, the 47-year-old actress’s butt and abs looks super toned in every. single. video.

So, what exactly does the L.A.’s Finest star do to maintain her fit physique? First, Gab does a deadlift holding one dumbbell with two hands, with her feet spaced equally apart.

Then, she does a bent-over row, clenching her bicep and tricep muscles, rowing her arms inwards and tensing when the dumbbells are near her ribs. She alternates sides, first focusing on her right arm and then her left.

Her next move is a weighted glute bridge, where she places a dumbbell on what appears to be a rolled-out ankle weight (clever!) over her pelvis and squeezes her glutes while raising her hips. (And now you know why her butt looks so good.)

From there, Gabrielle lays down on the bench and does a dumbbell pullover, raising the dumbbell over her head.

As if those moves weren’t intense enough, she goes straight into an opposite arm/leg extension, where she balances a tissue box on her lower back while doing the move atop a bench to keep her core tight. FYI: The move is “a lot harder than it looks,” according to Gab.

In the driveway outside her garage home gym, she stands with her feet spaced equally apart and stretches a resistance band across her chest, working her back muscles. (Btw, Gab’s garage home-gym setup is super-normal, considering how athletic her household is—she keeps an exercise ball on hand, a few yoga mats, a treadmill, a bench, and a few basketballs.)

Then, she heads back inside and does slider crunches without bending her knees, to tone her already-stellar abs.

From there, Gabrielle does a 30-second plank to work her core muscles, followed by some mountain climbers. “Gotta get that ass down tho,” she notes.

Whew. That full-body workout is enough to leave anyone sore for days, but so perfect for toning up from home this summer.
