Gasp! ‘The Big Bang Theory’ May Return for Season 13 After All
Just when we thought The Big Bang Theory was nearing its end, CBS swooped in to say “not so fast.”
During the 2018 Television Critics Association summer press tour, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl revealed that the network is in the early stages of renewing the hit series for season 13, according to Entertainment Weekly.
He said, “We don’t believe it’s the final year. We’re in preliminary discussions with Warner Bros., the studio.” Bazinga!
If the announcement comes as a surprise, you’re not alone. Earlier this year, executive producer Steve Holland hinted that the upcoming season will be the show’s last. “We’ve talked about if next season is the end where we would like to leave these characters, so we have some general plans,” he said. “But we really haven’t sat down and done the nitty-gritty of talking about the specifics of what exactly needs to happen.”
Although BBT earned a two-season renewal in 2017, the creators had yet to comment on the future of the sitcom…until now.
