Geauga Park District hosts talk on how to attract more beneficial pollinators
Apr. 5—Those interested in having more beneficial pollinators on their property are invited to come from 7 to 8 p.m. April 26 to the Geauga Park District's West Woods Nature Center to learn tips and tricks for attracting native solitary bees on Friday.
Dr. Ken Keckler of Buckeye Veterinary Service will present "Native Solitary Bees: Beneficial Pollinators" to shine the spotlight on solitary insects like mason and leafcutter bees, according to a news release. These are gentle, native super-pollinators good for farms, gardens and parks.
Those in attendance will learn how to increase the abundance of a solitary bee population and can enter a raffle to take home one of the bee houses donated by Nature's Way Bird Products.
The nature center is located at 9465 Kinsman Road in Russell Township.
