GenZers Are Ditching Jeans for this 'Ugly Cute' Pants Trend, and We've Found Looks Starting at $23
If you finally reached the acceptance stage of the "skinny jeans are dead" reality, we have...news you may want to sit down for.
Baggy jeans are no longer all the rage, either. In fact, you may want to cancel that order you just made.
Gen-Z is out with a new trend: Fun pants.

If you've been spending time scrolling on Instagram (akin to living under a rock), here's what's been rumbling on TikTok. The idea of "fun pants" actually started gaining steam in 2020. Baggy jeans were blowing up at the time, so the cool kids clearly needed a cooler trend. One creator posted a montage of her fun pants — you see different prints and textures. All have mostly wider legs and flares, and they're best styled with crop tops.

Millennials (like me, full disclosure) may have remembered colored jeans and printed pants from the 2010s.
These are so not those, as another creator recently explained.

“Unlike fun pants of the millennial genre that were mostly straight-legged, skinny-colored pants, these ones play more with fabric, texture and silhouette," explained the TikToker, @jessephora, or "Jess B."
The user called out a few, like the Everlane Way-High Drape Pant (almost sold out). She also pulled out some more casual printed ones, which truly put the "fun" in "fun pants."
Parachute, printed pants are basically Gen-Z's latest way of thumbing their noses at more streamlined Millenial style, unafraid to "go big" and have, well, fun with fashion.
