Remember the George Foreman grill? In the late '90s and early '00s, I used mine for everything — burgers, chicken breasts, grilled cheese sandwiches — then I wiped down the nonstick surface so easily when I was done. This beloved countertop appliance was all the rage for years…and then one day, it just dropped off the radar.
I recently discovered, though, that the George Foreman grill is still going strong. Stronger than ever, in fact. Today’s George Foreman 15+ Serving Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill is almost unrecognizable. It’s a totally tricked-out, sleek, fully electric machine with 240 square inches of ceramic cooking surface. And right now at Walmart, it’s 30 percent off. Get it for just $69, down from $100! That’s the lowest price you’ll find on this unit anywhere on the internet.

George Foreman 15+ Serving Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill
When I spotted this gunmetal showstopper on Walmart.com, I also noticed that more than 1,000 five-star reviewers were raving about it. “Exceeded expectations,” one wrote. “Every item I grill comes off the George Forman just as if I used a flame grill.”
Naturally, I had to revisit the George Foreman craze and try out this grill for myself.
The George Foreman 15+ Serving Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill was my first purchase of the new year, and I have used it at least five times a week since I got it. The fans are right: it’s easy to set up, versatile and cleans up effortlessly. And it cooks just like the gas grill on my patio, which I miss so much during the cold winter months. Now I can have cookouts year-round, and the George Foreman grill produces almost no smoke at all. It even has a removable stand, so I can use it on the patio or in the kitchen.
When my brand-new 2022 George Foreman grill arrived on my doorstep, I was excited to relive the nostalgia. The first thing I made after I unboxed it and set it up on my kitchen island was the very dish I loved to make on my old George Foreman 20 (gasp!) years ago: marinated chicken breasts and mushrooms. The surface looked similar to the one I used before, but it’s now made to conduct heat more evenly, which was evident in how juicy my chicken turned out, and my family agreed.
In fact, this George Foreman grill lets me choose from five heat settings, which is a major upgrade from the Foreman of the early aughts. However, it still has that brilliant, patented sloped design that lets all the juices drip into an included dish for easy cleanup, and removes more than 40 percent of fats in the process. I knew I loved this grill for a reason!
So far, my new George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill has simplified my life beyond measure. I can grill all kinds of meats, veggies and potatoes and more without literally firing up a grill, without filling my kitchen with fumes, and without a giant mess to clean up. Anything that saves me time during my weekday grind is welcome, and with results this tasty, I’m obviously relying on this appliance all the time. It’s just like the good old days, but better!
So many shoppers are on board, too, and living for their George Foreman grill. “Just bought this grill about a week ago and I have used it [at] least every other day,” one person wrote. “If you leave the top on, your meats will be very tender and full of flavor. Leaving the top off will give you the full grill effect.”
Another gave it this glowing review, which reflects my sentiments exactly: “I LOVE this grill! I've grilled hamburgers, steaks, pork chops, salmon, and turkey thighs on this grill, and the food has turned out perfectly every time. The heating element is fully enclosed, so you can wash it at the sink with warm soapy water and not worry about getting the heating element wet; then you can cook on it right away. I also love that there's NO smoke; only a bit of steam escapes when cooking. One of my best investments.”
Ready to revisit your George Foreman grill days and enjoy a countertop superstar you can rely on every night? Here are a few more I scouted — they’re all on sale and have thousands of rave reviews.
George Foreman 4-Serving Removable Plate Electric Indoor Grill and Panini Press in Platinum
This update of the original model is even easier to clean than the old version because of the dishwasher-safe removable grill plates. “I originally bought this grill to make panini sandwiches. I must say it does make a great sandwich," says one happy shopper. "However I ventured away from just sandwiches, and I'm completely in love with it. From grilled chicken breast, hamburgers, and steaks I've had wonderful results. It grills food quickly and is very easy to clean afterward. I no longer do "drive thru fast food" since I purchased this grill.”
George Foreman 5-Serving Removable Plate Indoor Electric Grill
If you were of the many people who called the original George Foreman a staple of the 1990s kitchen, you will get a feeling of déjà vu when you unbox this grill. It's exactly what one would expect from a George Foreman grill — easy to use and easy to clean. Get this grill for 20 percent off at Wayfair.
George Foreman 2-Serving Classic Plate Electric Indoor Grill
If you cook for only one to two people, this is the perfect grill to bring home. Says one Amazon shopper, “Compact, and not complicated. Plug it in and it heats up while I construct my masterpiece sandwich. The light goes off, I pop it in. I use a few sprays of spray butter on the outside of both pieces of bread, and it turns it out perfectly, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. I unplug it, open it and give it a wipe with a paper towel.”
