George H.W. Bush Ready to Leave Maine Summer Home for Texas, Craves 'Tex-Mex'

You know it's officially fall when #41 is ready to leave the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine and return home to the land of the Astros, family, and, of course, Tex-Mex cuisine.

As per tradition since his childhood, George H.W. Bush spent his summer at the family home on Walker's Point, though this summer marked his first season there without Barbara Bush, his beloved wife of 73 years. In warmer months, the idyllic coastal town comes to life with vacationers, parades, sporting events, and more — several of which are hosted by or honor the Bush family. Now, with October upon us and the warm temperatures dropping, Bush the Elder is ready to head back to the Lone Star State.

Yesterday, David Charns of Portland's news channel WMTW 8, shared the update on Twitter, stating, "Just checked in with former President George H. W. Bush’s spokesman, @jgm41. 'The 41st president has declared he wants Tex Mex [sic] food and is ready to come home to Texas, and we cannot wait to get him back in a week or two,'" adding that Bush has been in Kennebunkport since May.

We hope that Papa Bush had a memorable and meaningful — albeit surely difficult — summer in Maine and enjoys sinking his teeth into some tasty Tex-Mex delights upon his safe arrival in H-Town.
