Ghost of Tsushima Movie Script Is Finished

Ghost of Tsushima PS5

The movie script for the adaptation of PS5 samurai game Ghost of Tsushima is complete, according to director Chad Stahelski.

Ghost of Tsushima was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2020 and later updated with extra content for release on PlayStation 5.

Developed by Sucker Punch, the open world game follows Jin Sakai as he seeks to repel a Mongol force that has invaded the island of Tsushima. Players can choose to stick to the samurai code and fight honorably face-to-face, or take a more dishonorable stealth route.

“We have a script, we're very close to getting our s*** together on that, as well,” Stahelski told Screen Rant. “Development is always tricky, it's studios, it's strikes, and availabilities, and scouting. You have to will things into existence.

“I think the two things that I am closest and most interested in are Highlander and Ghost of Tsushima. Both amazing, amazing properties, the story of Ghost is, also, one of my favorite properties of all time.”

Ghost of Tsushima is influenced by classic Japanese cinema, with Sucker Punch including a black and white filter option dubbed Kurosawa Mode.

Chad Stahelski directed or co-directed all four John Wick movies and has also worked as a stunt performer on numerous Hollywood movies. As well as a remake of 1980s sci-fi action movie Highlander, he’s also involved in an adaptation of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six games.
