Gianvito Rossi Searches Rise Over 300% After Princess Kate Middleton’s Royal Variety Performance Appearance
Gianvito Rossi’s signature heels are rising high in online traffic, thanks to the British royal family.
Following the airing of this year’s Royal Variety Performance on ITV on Sunday (originally filmed on Nov. 30), searches for “Gianvito Rossi” on Google rose by 301% worldwide, according to research by fashion brand Karen Millen. The increase in traffic was owed to Princess Kate Middleton, who wore the Italian luxury label’s blue suede Gianvito 105 pumps for the occasion.

Though Middleton’s specific colorway isn’t currently available, Rossi’s Gianvito 105 pumps come in a wide variety of hues to choose from. Currently, the pointed-toe heels can be found on the brand’s website in 26 colors — which span leather, suede and satin iterations in both matte and metallic finishes. The style has been a go-to for Middleton, who’s worn the shoe in at least five colors during charitable outings, formal events and royal appearances over the years.
During the charitable Variety Performance — which included performances by Hannah Waddingham, Paloma Faith and McFly — Millen’s data also found an increase in searches for all elements of Midldeton’s attire. “Blue long dress” searches tripled for an increase of 231%, while “J Crew earrings” rising by 614%. Prince William’s outfit also gained some attention, as “black tux” searches rose by 233% as well.
Middleton’s attire for the occasion marked a viral outing for Gianvito Rossi this season. In recent weeks, the brand’s footwear has also been worn by a wide array of stars; Finneas wore its Harris and William loafers onstage while performing with sister Billie Eilish on “Saturday Night Live,” while America Ferrera, Rachel McAdams, Carrie Coon, Emma Myers and more have donned its sleek pumps and sandals across various red carpets.
Rossi’s also expanded its presence in 2023 with the introduction of its debut handbag, the top-handled Vali, in October. Throughout the year, the label’s also made waves with its spring and fall collections, introducing new styles with an array of accents — including the cutout Catherine, buckle-strapped Carrey and stone-trimmed Shanti sandals, boots, pumps and more.
