Gigi Hadid Is the Face of Burberry's Monogram Collection Campaign
The model officially joins the British house after making her runway debut with the brand at its Fall 2019 show.
Ever since Gigi Hadid walked her first-ever runway show for Burberry during London Fashion Week in February, spectators were curious whether the model and creative director Riccardo Tisci would collaborate on something bigger. On Tuesday, those inquiries were answered: Hadid fronts the British house's debut Monogram Collection campaign. The new range features Burberry's red-and-honey, TB-interlocked monogram, which was unveiled by Tisci in August 2018 and designed by Peter Saville.
Photographed by Nick Knight and styled by Katy England, the images show Hadid taking on the four different style types that make up Tisci's Burberry customer. "The idea behind the shoot was to create imagery that allowed Gigi to play out the four characters of the lady, the gentleman, the girl and the boy in a very simple, stripped-back and honest studio environment," explained Knight in an official statement.
"I have always loved and respected Riccardo's work, and I feel so honored and grateful that he trusted me with this project," added Hadid in an official statement. "My first Burberry show was my first time working with Riccardo, and the timing just felt perfect. It gave us our first opportunity to really get to know each other."
The TB Monogram collection — comprised of ready-to-wear, accessories and lifestyle pieces (a logo-covered yoga mat!) for men and women — will be available in select Burberry stores around the world and online starting May 22.
