Gisele Bündchen Breaks Down in Tears in First Sit-Down Interview Since Tom Brady Divorce
Gisele Bündchen has kept a relatively low profile since her October 2022 divorce from Tom Brady after 13 years of marriage. But that will change when the 43-year-old mother of two appears in an upcoming Hulu exclusive, IMPACT x Nightline: Gisele Bündchen: Climbing the Mountain, in which she gets candid for the first time.
"Everything I've experienced makes me realize what I want and what I don't want," Bündchen says in a voiceover for a preview of the special, in which she sits down with ABC News correspondent Robin Roberts. "At the end of the day, like, if you're not truthful to who you are, then it doesn't work."
At one point in the teaser, Roberts point-blank asks the Brazilian model how she's doing. "Well, when you say—" Bündchen starts to answer, before starting to break down in tears. "Sorry, guys. I don’t know. Can I have a little moment?"
When asked about co-parenting the couple's two children, son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, Bündchen said: “I think there are easier days than others, and I can only control what I do."
She was also asked about opening up her heart again, amid rumors that she began dating her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in the immediate aftermath of her divorce. However, in the teaser, Bündchen seemed to initially play it coy. "Where my heart is now is where I am right now," she said. "I’m living my truth, and I’m not apologizing for it."
While this is Bündchen's first televised, sit-down interview following the dissolution of her marriage, she previously opened up about how she was coping.
"It's been very tough on my family. It's been a lot—in every area of my life," she told People last September. "I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings."
IMPACT x Nightline: Gisele Bündchen: Climbing the Mountain will begin streaming on Hulu on March 7.
