Gisele Bündchen poses barefaced on her latest Vogue cover- but can anyone look this good without make-up?
'No make-up make-up'- a style coined by the beauty industry to describe a look that is bare faced, minimal and prepped with skincare rather than anything you might find on the make-up counter.
It has become such a phenomenon that if you search the hashtag #Nomakeup on Instagram, over 15 million posts appear. Now, Gisele Bündchen has taken the trend to new levels and made history by posing barefaced on the cover of Vogue Italia's February issue- the first supermodel in the magazine's history to do so.
With no make-up, no artificial lighting and no stylist (she styled herself), Gisele opened her home to the magazine allowing fashion photographer, Jamie Hawkesworth to snap initimate moments at home with her family.
Throughout the spread, the 37-year old appears without a drop of make-up and with her hair left unstyled, offering an alternative to the usual glamorous supermodel facade. The feature, "Sunday with Gisele" evokes a day-in-the-life of the second highest paid model in the world as a mother of two and wife of New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady.
"The key to being the best version of yourself, is good skincare," says Gisele's make-up artist Tom Pecheux. So, could the supermodel's cover be confirmation that skincare is fasting becoming the new make-up?
