Glen Powell Jokes That He Only Did Nude Photoshoot to Try and Bury Embarrassing Meme of Himself

Glen Powell is certainly confident about his physique. The Anyone But You star admitted on X (formerly Twitter) that one of his motivators for doing a recent nude photoshoot for Men’s Health was to bury a more humiliating photo of himself.

“I only took off my pants to bury this photo,” Powell joked. He reposted two previous tweets where users roasted an overly emphatic red-carpet image of the Top Gun: Maverick actor. It shows Powell, with spiked hair, grinning wildly with his mouth open.

“He looks like a capybara who made a wish to become human,” one user wrote of the picture, while the initial poster wrote: “Me next in line at the dispensary trying to act normal,” above Powell’s leering grin.

Powell was so determined to bury the embarrassing photo that he undertook a punishing workout routine to ensure his body was at its peak. He told Men’s Health about his “frenemy workout” that gets him properly ripped but is a pain to accomplish.

“The sled. It kills you," Powell said. "It’s a full-body thing—it prevents you from being the guy who just wants to look good."

For Powell, though, the sled seems to have served its purpose.

The star can next be seen opposite Sydney Sweeney in Will Gluck’s romantic comedy Anyone But You. Powell and Sweeney play two exes who must fake a romantic relationship to save face at a friend’s destination wedding. It hits theaters on December 22.
