Take A Glimpse Into The Soulful Career Of Aretha Franklin

Whatever you need, baby she’s got it. Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has been singing her way into our hearts for over 60 years. Let’s take a look at the Memphis, Tennessee native’s celebrated career. Aretha showed the world she was more than just any Natural Woman with 44 Grammy nominations and 18 wins.

She was also the first woman to ever be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With such classics as Respect, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Chain of Fools, only a fool would be surprised that this songbird sold over 75 million records worldwide! For 40 years, Franklin held the record for the Most Hot 100 Hits by a Female Artist, with 73 chart-busting tracks. And, after releasing 42 studio albums, this musical phenom garnered a net worth of at least $60 million.

Aretha Franklin also had the rare opportunity to sing for three presidential inaugurations and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And, when it came time to show her hometown some love, this shining Queen of Soul never disappointed. Franklin would send her old congregation in Detroit $10,000 checks several times a year. With Jennifer Hudson taking on the role of Franklin in an upcoming biopic, fans are sure to be showing this legendary diva plenty of R-E-S-P-E-C-T for decades to come.
