God's Love We Deliver's Star-Studded Night
On Tuesday night, God's Love We Deliver, the New York City nonprofit that delivers more than 7,000 home-cooked meals each day to those living with illness, hosted its annual Golden Heart Awards at Spring Studios. Longtime patron Michael Kors chaired the event-now in its 12th year-with Aerin Lauder, John Idol, Blaine Trump, and Jordan Roth. More than 600 guests (many of them dressed in Michael Kors, of course) including Iman, Priyanka Chopra, Naomi Watts, Neil Patrick Harris, Bette Midler, Nathan Lane, and Lynda Carter, helped celebrate the honorees. Jamie Niven received the award for Outstanding Volunteerism, Tony Kushner accepted for Lifetime Achievement (and, as Blaine Trump did moments before, made a joke about having to change his last name), and Hugh Jackman received the Outstanding Community Service Award, but not before serenading the audience. A live auction of exclusive culinary experiences put everyone in a giving mood, especially the unidentified gentleman who bid $100,000 for a private dinner hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and Gramercy Tavern chef Michael Anthony.
An evening for the charity was full of laughs, a few Trump jokes, and a mini-serenade by a Hollywood leading man.
