'The Golden Bachelor' Planning Live TV Wedding
Gerry and Theresa
Gerry Turner thrilled The Golden Bachelor fans by popping the question to Theresa Nist, the woman “he couldn’t live without” on the hotly anticipated season finale.
The two clicked on their very first one-on-one date as both had lost their spouses after long and happy marriages.
Gerry had been with wife Toni for 43 years before she died of a bacterial infection, while Theresa was married for 42 years to husband Billy, who passed away from kidney failure.
Now, they will both be marrying for a second time—on live TV!

Is The Golden Bachelor getting married?
Yes. In the final episode of The Golden Bachelor Season 1, Gerry got down on one knee and proposed to Theresa Nist, saying “Will you marry me?”
Theresa said yes and he put a dazzling diamond ring on her finger.
Although Gerry wasn’t shown picking out the ring, following in Bachelor tradition, it was from Beverly Hills jeweler Neil Lane.
Earlier in the episode Gerry had split with runner-up Leslie Fhima, 64, in her hotel room, telling the dancer/fitness instructor that he’d decided that Theresa Nist was the one. Leslie was left blindsided and crying.
