'The Golden Girls' Gets Reimagined with an All-Black Cast

• Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, Alfre Woodard, and Sanaa Lathan are joining forces for a rendition of The Golden Girls hosted virtually on Zoom Tuesday night.

• The mini remake is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and hosted by Lena Waithe.

• The event benefits Color of Change, the country's largest online racial justice organization.

Tonight, The Golden Girls will be reimagined with an all-Black cast for a special virtual performance on Zoom. Actresses Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina King, Alfre Woodard, and Sanaa Lathan are teaming up to create a version of the beloved '80s sitcom, which originally starred Betty White, Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. Love & Basketball director Gina Prince-Bythewood is at the helm, while Lena Waithe is hosting.

Fans can tune in to the hour-long performance with a virtual watch party on Zoom starting at 9 p.m. ET (sign up here). The event is made in partnership with the video-conferencing app and will benefit the online racial justice organization Color of Change.

"In an effort to further engage our community and drive change, all you need to do to enjoy this evening is sign up to receive messages about how you can make a change during this election!" a description for the event reads.

According to an Instagram post shared by Ross over the weekend, she will play Rose (originally portrayed by White), King will play Dorothy (Arthur), Lathan will play Blanche (McClanahan), and Woodard will play Sophia (Getty).
