Good Friday Sees 3 Confessions, 1 Non-Confession, and a Hail Mary on DAYS
Jude’s christening continued on the March 29 episode of Days of Our Lives. There were prayers, mainly from John, who didn’t believe he belonged in a church. Also, Sloan and Melinda prayed to anyone who would listen that Leo would shut his mouth. Plus, Holly and Tate made confessions, which will have consequences, mainly for Holly.
Thoughts, Prayers, Confessions, and Pacts
The Non-Confession: Leo Stark
As we all predicted, Leo (Greg Rikaart) didn’t produce the goods. He didn’t fess up to the baby switch. instead, he admitted to covering the christening for The Spectator. Then he followed it up with a nice speech about loss, love, hope, baby Jude, and how he was honored to be the baby’s fairy godfather. Everybody at the christening looked perplexed initially, but by the end, they were all on board with his ill-timed speech. (Check out our DAYS Photo Recap from yesterday’s episode)
Holly Jonas Confession #1
While Holly (Ashley Puzemis) reluctantly attended the christening, she made the most of her presence. After the ceremony, she hung back while everybody moved on to the after-party at the DiMera mansion. This gave her time to talk to Eric (Greg Vaughan — find out about his recent health scare here), a man she thinks of as a father figure. She confessed something she said she knew he probably suspected. That the drugs she overdosed on the night of the New Year’s Eve party were “one-hundred percent not Tate’s.” They were hers. All hers. Eric helped her see that telling him wasn’t enough. Despite what she thinks her mom will feel about her, she must tell Nicole (Arianne Zucker).
Tate Black’s Minor Confession
After the ceremony, Theresa (Emily O’Brien) visited Tate (Jamie Martin Mann) at the halfway house. While there, a recent secret of his came out…that Holly started calling him at the halfway house pretending to be his mother. Livid, Theresa told Tate he couldn’t be in communication with Holly in any way or form.
The Hail Mary: John Black
Unsurprisingly, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) couldn’t shake his feelings of unworthiness, guilt, and every other negative thought he was thinking. He didn’t last at the christening because he felt uncomfortable, as if he was tainting everybody else by being there. At the reception, his anger and despair got the better of him. He only took it on EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel), but he knew he couldn’t stay at the party even then. So he and Marlena (Deidre Hall) made a pretty quick exit. Later, he ended up back at the church, praying to God for help figuring his way through this mess. Marlena, of course, was right there by his side. While her presence helped, it wasn’t enough to ease his mind and give him peace.
Devil’s Pact: Sloan, Melinda, Leo
Leo’s non-confession was enough to scare Sloan (temporarily played by Natasha Hall) and Melinda. (Tina Huang) so they came after him. In the end, the three made a pact. Even Leo made it clear that he didn’t want his life ruined by this secret. So he assured the two lawyers he would stay quiet until the money ran dry. So, alas, the baby switch continues to be a thing. (Discover what’s ahead for DAYS in Soap Hub’s 2-week breakdown here)
Holly Jonas Confession #2
After the reception suddenly ended and Brady (Eric Martsolf) started to leave, Holly asked him not to go. Then she did what she should have done weeks earlier: telling Nicole, EJ, Brady, and Eric the truth. Yes, she confessed that the drugs were hers and not Tate’s. She left everybody stunned in silence.
