'Good Morning America's Ginger Zee Claps Back at Negative Comments
Any public figure on television gets an array of negative comments from viewers on the internet, and Good Morning America chief meteorologist Ginger Zee shared her response to some recent messages criticizing her.
The 42-year-old shared an image on Instagram of two different tweets about her appearance on Good Morning America, one positive and one negative, to make a point about how "everyone has an opinion."
The tweet from a viewer on the left asked Zee for some "makeup secrets," while the right comment was a criticism of her blush and bronzer. Both tweets were responding to the same makeup look, sent within minutes of each other.
Zee wrote in the caption, "This is for anyone who needs to hear it — everyone has an opinion, these two came in within minutes of eachother…"
"I’ll watch back to be sure there is no validity to the negative one, but in general I hope this helps you all see you can’t take any one comment too personally as it varies widely depending on the person," she went on. "And that’s ok! I love hearing from you all ??."
Many of Zee's fans appreciated her reminder. One person noted how amazed they were that Zee manages to do Good Morning America and ABC News every day, saying, "You always look fabulous, but more importantly, your reports are always interesting."
Another recounted a personal anecdote: "I was once told by a friend who witnessed someone who was always negative, rude to me, 'just be happy you don’t live in her miserable skin, she must be very unhappy.'"
Zee has always been very open about her personal hardships, and she shared a lot about past romance, her family, and a lifelong struggle with mental health in her book, Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One, which came out in 2017.
