Would Margot Tenenbaum be a Goop stan? It’s not entirely impossible to imagine that the iconic Wes Anderson character, played by a cherubic Gwyneth Paltrow more than a decade ago would, much like the wellness brand founder herself, ditch the cigs and charcoal-black eyeliner for a life of Vitamin C serums and moisturizers.

Goop and Lacoste make a convincing case for the marriage of these two lifestyles in a brand new collaboration, announced today. The limited-edition collection pays homage to the signature striped Lacoste dress that Paltrow’s character wears throughout most of the 2001 film. The lineup includes retro shapes and silhouettes found within the French label’s archive, including reimagined versions of twisted skirts, knitted collars and culottes, polo sets, jumpsuits and 80’s-inspired footwear — red beret, loafers and fur coat not included.
The capsule will be available to shop starting Nov. 15, on both Goop and Lacoste‘s websites, as well as online and in select stores at Bandier.
Margot’s wardrobe has been an obvious influence on dozens of runway shows in the years since the film’s debut. In 2015, Gucci sent a model down the runway in a fur coat, loafers and red beret (an exact replica of the Anderson character), but even recent shows have pulled inspiration from Margot’s chic, uniquely gamine style. Fendi, Michael Kors and Max Mara debuted faux fur coats last year that all resemble Margot’s signature mink coat.
So, it only makes sense that Paltrow (and Goop) join the train herself. Shop the entire collection at Goop.com and Lacoste.com starting Nov 15.
