Grace Potter revives Grand Point North name for Burlington concert series in July
Vermont rocker Grace Potter is reviving the concept of her long-running Grand Point North festival with two nights of performances at Waterfront Park in Burlington in what’s being called the Grand Point North concert series.
The event in late July isn’t billed as a festival as it had been prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Grand Point North concert series will feature weekend performances at Waterfront Park by Potter, and the Waitsfield-raised musician will “be joined by local and national touring acts each day,” concert promoter Higher Ground announced Feb. 27.
Potter led the Grand Point North festival for nearly 10 years, playing shows with her various bands as well as attracting national artists including Jackson Browne, Trombone Shorty, Ani DiFranco, Nathaniel Rateliff and Lake Street Dive. Acts with Vermont connections that played the festival included Trey Anastasio, Guster, Anais Mitchell, Swale and Caroline Rose.
