Grain Theory hosts packed block party to kick off the summer season
Grain Theory Brewery held its annual block party celebration Saturday in downtown Abilene.
A block of North Second Street was closed from Pine to Cypress streets to accommodate street vendors, a band, and copious amounts of beer and food served up fresh to Abilenians all evening.
Grain Theory has been a staple of downtown Abilene for several years and doesn't "shy away from experimentation, funk, twists on tradition, and unique ingredients," according to the business's website.
The brewery hosts an annual Block Party every year with live music, special release beers and a cigar patio.
Abilenians young and old flocked to the packed party Saturday with kids staying well into the evening hours as their parents enjoyed a cold beer.
Partygoers sat comfortably in the shade as the band played and misters cooled off the rising temps.
The block party came on the heels of the brewery's rescheduled Saint Patrick's Day celebration, which also saw the block closed outside this taproom and restaurant.
