'Grateful' Hoda Kotb Shares the Sweet Birthday Surprise Her Daughters Gave Her
Hoda Kotb's daughters Haley and Hope celebrated the TODAY show co-host's 59th birthday with a special surprise.
The sisters teamed up to bring breakfast in bed to their mom—with the help of their grandma Sameha— consisting of four pancakes with some whipped cream, topped with candles. The rest of Kotb's family was also there off-camera singing "Happy Birthday."
In the Instagram carousel that showed the adorable video, Kotb also gave a preview of the many stunning flower bouquets and balloons she received on her big day. Additionally, she included some family photos featuring her brother Adel, her sister Hala, and nieces Hannah and Ella from their day at the beach, which appear to be taken by her Point Lookout vacation home.
Kotb captioned her celebratory post, "Lots love. Eternally grateful! ??????."
Some of the TV personality's celebrity friends popped in to share their birthday wishes in the comments.
"Happiest of birthdays??," wrote Viola Davis. Kotb's TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie commented, "SO much love!" Andy Cohen shared, "Happy Birthday beauty!" Kenan Thompson also appeared in the comments, writing, "Yayyy Happy Birthday!!! ??????."
As announced by Guthrie during the show on Aug. 7, Kotb took the week off to celebrate her birthday with her family. Kotb's TODAY co-host and close friend Jenna Bush Hager treated her to a delightful early present by footing the bill for the birthday girl's dinner with family.
Kotb showed her gratitude towards Hager's heartwarming gesture, sharing a photo of them gathered at the dinner table, captioned, "@jennabhager thx for the delicious pre-bday meal! My family loved it— and YOU!!"
