[There are spoilers ahead for this season of Grey’s Anatomy. If you aren’t caught up yet, hop on out of this post!]

Last week, Grey’s Anatomy shocked fans by revealing that Miranda Bailey is pregnant with her second child, while she’s mysteriously also going through menopause. It’s a lot, and fans have a tonnn of feelings about it.

Mostly, they’re confused because Amelia is already pregnant, and Teddy just had a baby. Don’t we have enough pregnancy storylines?! Someone on Twitter made a joke about it, posting a picture of a bunch of pregnant nurses/doctors.

And then Krista Vernoff, who is the showrunner for Grey’s, retweeted it with a bunch of laugh/cry emojis.

It’s almost like she knows how crazy this storyline is and she’s making fun of herself/the show, and TBH, that’s hilarious. Fans are pretty upset about the Bailey thing, especially because the one couple they do want to have a baby is Alex and Jo, and that hasn’t happened yet.

One Reddit user explained it this way: “I swear everybody gets pregnant. Maggie will probably be next. Who knows if Jo and Alex will ever have kids? I’m getting tired of all these pregnancy storylines so close to one another. I would have preferred Bailey having menopause.”

And another person made this really valid point. “The thing with Grey’s pregnancies is they don’t do anything with the kids once they’re born...it’s just like ‘Omg, [blank] is pregnant, let’s have drama about people finding out, a difficult birth and then no story about the kid ever.’”

So, yeah. Fans are exactly thrilled here. But another person on Twitter did make a really good point, and it’s that Bailey was pretty hilarious during her first pregnancy, so this could be the writers’ way of redeeming her character for all the stuff with Meredith right now.
