Guild House Restaurant offers training session for new volunteers
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The historic Guild House in downtown Bakersfield is in need of volunteers.
Glynda Martin, president of the Guild House, joined 17 News at Noon to discuss the need for volunteers and what it means to volunteer at Guild House.
“All volunteers. Every job in the house is done by volunteers and not one person gets a paycheck,” said Martin. “We would like volunteers who want to cook and train every person who walks through that door.”
Lunches at the Guild House are held Tuesday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Every dollar spent at the restaurant will go towards the Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic.

Martin also talked about what to expect Saturday during the event.
“Come on in Saturday, at 10 a.m., we will have the doors open ready to give you a tour of the house and set you up for the job of your dreams,” said Martin.
The Guild House Restaurant is located at 1905 18th St.
