You Guys, Princess Eugenie & Fiancé Jack Brooksbank Are Actually Distantly Related
Just because they’re engaged to be married doesn’t mean Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, aren’t related. (Wait, what?)
As it turns out, the royal couple are—drumroll, please—distant third cousins (twice removed, to be fair). It all dates back to a common 19th-century ancestor, Thomas William Coke (the 2nd Earl of Leicester), and his two marriages: Juliana Whitbread and Georgiana Caroline Cavendish.
Still confused? Have no fear. Business Insider put together a handy-dandy chart that explains the couple’s bloodline.
If you’re alarmed, don’t be. In fact, they’re not the only royal couple to have an ancestor in common. Don’t believe us? Exhibit A: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are both directly related to Queen Victoria.
