You Guys, Rachel McAdams Thinks About Regina George on a Daily Basis
It appears we aren’t the only ones who still feel personally victimized by Regina George.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Rachel McAdams revealed that not a day goes by that she doesn’t think about the iconic character she played in the hit 2004 film Mean Girls. She joked, “Does Regina George haunt me every day? She does have that quality.”
The pregnant actress went on to admit that she wouldn’t be where she is today if it weren’t for Regina George’s, er, widespread influence. She continued, “I have to thank Regina George for giving me some longevity. I’m forever grateful to Tina Fey and [director] Mark Waters. I remember when I read it, I called my agent right away and said, ‘I will play any part in this, please, please, please.’”
McAdams was 26 years old when the film was released. Although she will always be known as the army-pants-and-flip-flops-wearing villain, she is forever grateful for the character that jump-started her career.
She added, “I was at the beginning of my career, and it was a lofty thing out there, that I really, really, really wanted to do. I’m always looking for larger-than-life characters, which is probably why I like playing villains. They get away with so much.”
You go, Glen Coco McAdams.
