Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her skincare routine in a new interview.
The Goop founder said she relied on the St. Ives Apricot Face Scrub for years before developing her own skincare line.
Paltrow previously opened up about her skincare routine, which includes acid-based peels, mineral-infused sunscreens, and more to keep her skin glowing.
Although the beauty world is saturated with innovative products around anti-aging, like serums, creams, and masks, Gwyneth Paltrow says the secret to her glowing skin at 49 is all in keeping things simple.
“I've always been pretty consistent. Like I've always kind of been minimal,” the actress and Goop founder told ELLE in a recent interview. While she unsurprisingly loves a range of products from her Goop brand, Paltrow also opened up about a drugstore exfoliant she had used for years before creating her own line.
Paltrow said she was a “big fan” of the St. Ives Apricot Face Scrub, which has been touted by celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lawrence, and more. The popular drugstore face wash, which retails for just $13, is infused with vitamin A, antioxidants, and salicylic acid to reduce breakouts and gently exfoliate your pores.
And Amazon shoppers love it! In a review, one customer said the scrub "softens skin wonderfully as well as doing a heck of a job exfoliating." Another person said it's great for even sensitive skin complexions.
Paltrow also shared a few other favorite products from her skincare routine, which includes various peels and serums like the Goop 15% Glycolic Acid Overnight Glow Peel, the Goop Glow Cloudberry Exfoliating Jelly Cleanser, and the Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial Mask. “I put it on every single day, although the tube says to do it three times a week,” she told Vogue of the Instant Facial. “It’s my secret to young, fresh-looking skin.”
If she’s traveling, Paltrow will put on an antioxidant-rich eye mask. “Juice Beauty makes an algae face mask, and if I’m on a really long flight I’ll put it on while I’m watching a movie,” she told Elle. “It’s really brilliant, made with organic ingredients, and very hydrating.”
She also never leaves the house without a mineral-based sunscreen like the Drunk Elephant’s Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30, and when a pesky blemish pops up, her drugstore spot treatment of choice is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.
For Paltrow, though, true beauty starts on the inside. So, the actress makes sure to follow a healthy lifestyle to achieve her glow from within. “It’s key to get a good sweat every day,” she told The Gloss. “I think that’s an important foundation for a skincare routine.”
She also loads up on lean meats, veggies, and water with citrus. “I do always try to avoid highly-processed foods and high-fructose corn syrup,” she added to Harper’s Bazaar.
To combat stress, Paltrow meditates and ends her nights with a relaxing bath. “I take a bath every single night before I go to bed. It’s my ritual to get grounded and get the energy of the day off.” And that's exactly how to glow like Gwyn!
