Gwyneth Paltrow, Barbra Streisand & Ben Platt Walk into a Netflix Queue…
Netflix has just scooped up a new jazz-hands-tastic musical comedy series, and it totally has the makings of our new favorite show. Oh, and did we mention it stars Ben Platt from Pitch Perfect and Dear Evan Hansen?
The Politician, the newest project from Glee and American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk (aka Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow) and Ian Brennan, tells the story of Payton (Platt), a wealthy guy from Santa Barbara who wants to run for office. (And just a wild guess, but we’re willing to bet he’s a pretty decent singer and dancer, too.)
Oscar winners Barbra Streisand and Paltrow are also in negotiations to join the musical fun.
No word yet on when The Politician will pas de bourrée its way onto our Netflix queue. In the meantime, we’ll have to settle for watching Paltrow poke fun at her Goopy lifestyle with Stephen Colbert and sob through Platt’s Grammy performance.
