No matter how many wellness trends you try, you will not be able to turn your lifestyle around and kick your unhealthy habits if you don’t have attainable goals.
“2020 is about walking more, sleeping better, and cutting out sugar,” says celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, who has helped sculpt some of Hollywood’s most famous bodies — Gwyneth Paltrow, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Ariana Grande, for starters.
“If you sleep an extra half an hour a night, you cut out half the sugar in your diet, and you hit at least 12,000 steps a day, that will drastically change your life.”
As any veteran dieter knows, achieving your wellness goals is often easier said than done. Luckily, Harley has a few tricks up his sleeve to make your lofty resolutions feel a lot more attainable.
“Walking is the thing that never goes away because it’s not a trend,” says Harley. “The Versa 2 is the latest Fitbit and it’s what I use. Fitbit will get you walking, moving more, and I wear it 24 hours a day.”

Harley believes that swapping out your everyday shoes for a pair that’s made for walking is the key to staying active in your everyday life. “If you wear comfortable shoes you’re more likely to walk,” he says.

But perhaps the hardest habit to kick is a sugar addiction. “We are consuming ten times the amount of sugar we should be consuming a day,” Harley says. So he created a pill to help you curb your addiction. “Sweetkick: it’s a sugar-control mint. Game changer to cut out sugar. It makes it so that you can’t taste sugar for up to two hours after you have this mint.”

“The more you focus on your habits, the process, the things you have direct control over, you will hit all of those secondary goals like losing weight,” says Harley. “Focus on the process. The process is the goal.”
