Gwyneth Paltrow is nothing if not unconventional, so it makes sense that her choices in marriage might be unique as well. So, we weren’t entirely shocked to learn that Paltrow and husband Brad Falchuk don’t live together — at least not full-time. In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the Goop mogul reportedly opened up about how she and Falchuk have chosen an alternative cohabitation arrangement. And, hey, it seems to work for them. What’s that old adage? “There’s a pot for every lid.”
So how often do Paltrow and Falchuk, whom she married last September, sleep under the same roof? Per the Times, Falchuk does stay with his wife four nights per week. The other three nights a week, he sleeps at his own house near Paltrow’s home. There, his children, Brody and Isabella, stay over during his three nights away from his wife. “Oh, all my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn’t change a thing,” Paltrow reportedly told the Times, giggling.

Apparently, Paltrow and Falchuk find that the space between them for part of the week creates a perfect “polarity,” as recommended by her intimacy teacher, Michaela Boehm, in order to keep the relationship “fresh.”
Of course, Paltrow expects a bit of bemusement and pushback over the couple’s unorthodox arrangement, but she doesn’t mind. “I don’t care about the haters,” she said. “Haters are irrelevant to me. It’s like Brené Brown says: I’m not making this work for people who aren’t in the arena. Haters don’t mean anything to me because they are not my people.”
Say what you will about Paltrow, but you’ve gotta give her credit for living with such intention when it comes to the people in her life. Skeptics initially balked when she and ex-husband Chris Martin announced in 2014 that they were “consciously uncoupling.” And yet, they have one of the most amicable relationship among exes in Hollywood (and beyond). So much so, in fact, that she brought him along on her “very modern honeymoon” with the couple’s kids, Apple and Moses, as well as — who else? — her new husband, Falchuk. Paltrow has recently also embraced the new lady in Martin’s life, actress Dakota Johnson. “I adore her,” Paltrow told the Times. “[She’s] a fantastic woman.” Per People, a source recently underscored the fact that Paltrow “has worked hard to integrate Dakota into family life, even suggesting that she join family vacations.”
So, it might not look like what everyone is accustomed to, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work either. People’s source explains that most of Paltrow’s decisions are motivated by the people closest to her, insisting, “She’s very much in love with her husband and loves sharing time with everyone she considers part of her family.”
