Hallelujah! 'Sister Act 3' Is Happening and Whoopi Goldberg Will Be the Star

2020 was not a great year for TV and film, but rest assured that Disney's latest announcement will fix that. The production house has just announced so many films and franchises to look forward to over the next decade, including Sister Act 3, an Enchanted sequel starring Amy Adams and a Three Men And A Baby remake with Zac Efron.

At Disney's Investor Day in early December, Disney announced multiple projects acrosstheir platforms including Disney+, Hulu, and FX Networks, and fans won't know what to be the most excited about.

New Disney releases

  • Sister Act 3 - Almost three decades after the original film, Whoopi Goldberg is back!

  • Disenchanted - A sequel to the 2007 hit fairy tale fantasy film Enchanted, with Amy Adams returning to star as Gisele. No details about what to expect, but eek!

  • Lightyear - A new animated film due in cinemas in June 2022.

  • Three Men And A Baby remake - a new version of the 1980s classic film is coming, this time starring actual Zac Efron.

  • A reimagining of Cheaper By The Dozen - Black-ish creator Kenya Barris will be at the helm of a remake of the 2003 film.

  • The Little Mermaid live-action remake - we already know quite a lot about this one. Halle Bailey will star as Ariel, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Awkwafina as Scuttle

  • Night at the Museum reboot

  • Pinocchio

  • The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild

  • Peter Pan & Wendy

  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid

  • Safety

  • The Keanon Lowe project

  • Greek Freak

  • The Chris Paul Project

  • Flora & Ulysses

Elsewhere, Disney discussed the long-awaited sequel to Hocus Pocus 2, confirmed they were resurrecting Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers for Disney+ and Turner and Hooch, with Josh Peck from Drake and Josh starring.

Disney also announced The Mighty Duck franchise would be returning, they were producing three movies on the inspiring stories of NBA players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Chris Paul, and American football coach Keanon Lowe.

Bored yet? You won't be when you find out Disney has also planned to offer 10 new TV series in its Marvel and Star Wars franchises over the next few years, and that 15 live-action Disney Animation and Pixar shows and 15 Disney Animation and Pixar feature films will be available on the streaming service.
