The New ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 2 Teaser Will Fire You Up for International Women’s Day
In the spirit of International Women’s Day, The Handmaid’s Tale dropped a brand-new season two teaser today with a powerful message: Resist, sister.
The clip shows a montage of moments in the handmaids’ dreadful Gilead existence accompanied by a poignant voice-over from Offred (Elisabeth Moss).
There’s Offred (Elisabeth Moss) in the back of a paddy wagon and then in front of a noose. Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) takes it up a notch and slaps a Martha in the face. Ofsteven (Alexis Bledel) is very much alive after running over a guardian and suffering the consequences. Oh, and she’s wearing civilian clothes. Meanwhile, Moira (Samira Wiley) looks, terrified and poor Ofwarren (Madeline Brewer) is off working in the dreaded Colonies. Different day, same Gilead.
The feminist icing on the Gilead cake? The teaser is interspersed with footage of a handmaid’s uniform burning—a message made even bolder given the fact that today is International Women’s Day.
The first two episodes of season two of The Handmaid’s Tale will hit Hulu on Wednesday, April 25.
Blessed be the second season.
