'Happy Days' Cast: Where Are They Now?
'Happy Days'
Happy Days was an enormously popular sitcom set in the Midwest United States in the 1950s and 1960, starring Ron Howard as Richie Cunningham, the oldest son of the quintessential Americana family.
Howard was joined by costars Henry Winkler, Marion Ross, Scott Baio and Tom Bosley, among others. Most of the stars of the show went on to star in several post-Happy Days projects, with quite a few joining the cast of The Love Boat at the same time.
In an interview on The Graham Norton Show in 2021, Howard admitted that this character Richie fell to the wayside as Winkler's Fonzie grew in popularity. "It was a really interesting kind of paradoxical situation because the show began and the Richie Cunningham character was the undeniable lead of the show," he said.
"When we would go out of the road to promote the show, it was just insane, focused on Fonzie, clearly that was very exciting," Howard added. "Except the executives, studio heads, network heads, you know, they started treating me with a lot of disrespect from a business standpoint [and] in terms of interaction." Howard left the show after seven seasons.
Here is a look at what the cast of Happy Days worked on after the show ended and where they are now.
Happy Days Cast: Where Are They Now?
Ron Howard (Richie Cunningham)
Audiences were already more than familiar with Howard when he joined the cast of Happy Days, as the actor previously starred on The Andy Griffith Show and The Smith Family. He played Richie Cunningham in 7 seasons of Happy Days before moving into directing and producing.
Since his time the series, Howard has been responsible for bringing a whole host of beloved films to fruition. These include Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. His daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, is also a successful actress.

Henry Winkler (Arthur 'Fonzie' Fonzarelli)
Winkler played one of the most enduringly popular television characters of all time, Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli. His signature catchline of "Heyyy" endeared Winkler to generations of Happy Days fans.
After the end of the show, Winkler continued to act in both television and in film. He and Howard joined forces again when they both worked on Arrested Development, and he also starred in another beloved series, Parks and Recreation. His additional credits have included The Waterboy, Scream and Barry, for which he won his first Emmy. In 2023, he released the memoir Being Henry: The Fonz… and Beyond.
Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham)
After her time playing the Cunningham family matriarch, Ross joined the cast of The Love Boat. Her later credits included roles on Gilmore Girls and The Drew Carey Show, and she also worked as a voice actress on SpongeBob SquarePants. Ross, now 95, retired from acting in 2018.
Scott Baio (Chachi Arcola)
Baio sprang to fame as Chachi, the boyfriend of Joanie Cunningham, played by Erin Moran. The pair were so beloved that they had their own spin-off series after Happy Days concluded, Joanie Loves Chachi.
Following Happy Days, Baio starred in Charles in Charge, Diagnosis Murder and Baby Talk.
Don Most (Ralph Malph)
Most exited the series after its seventh season (although he did return as a guest for the series finale). He soon popped up alongside his former Happy Days costars in episodes of The Love Boat and Charles in Charge before he began to tour the United States with his swing band.
Anson Williams (Potsie Weber)
Williams starred on Happy Days in all 11 of its seasons. While he continued to act sporadically after the show ended, he has been most successful behind the camera as a TV director. His credits include episodes of Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Erin Moran (Joanie Cunningham)
Moran delighted audiences at Joanie, the younger sister of Richie Cunningham. Joanie and her boyfriend Chachi were so popular that they earned their own spinoff series, Joanie Loves Chachi.
Moran didn't act much after the conclusion of the spinoff show. The actress died in 2017, at the age of 54, from complications related to cancer.
Tom Bosley (Howard Cunningham)
Bosley starred as the Cunningham family patriarch Howard for the entire run of Happy Days. He also starred on The Love Boat following the end of the show, then snapped up roles in The World of David the Gnome and Murder, She Wrote.
Bosley was diagnosed with lung cancer and died from a complications-related staph infection in 2010. He was 83.
Al Molinaro (Al Delvecchio)
Delvecchio played both diner owner Al Molinaro and his twin brother, Father Anthony Delvecchio. Unlike many of his costars, Delvecchio didn't get into acting until he had already enjoyed careers in real estate and collections. He had just a few roles after Happy Days, including in The Family Man, and died in 2015, at the age of 96, due to complications from an infected gallbladder.
