'Happy Days' Star Anson Williams, 73, Ties the Knot in Intimate Ceremony
Anson Williams, best known for his role as Warren “Potsie” Weber in the classic sitcom Happy Days, is officially a married man again!
The 73-year-old revealed that he tied the knot with Sharon MaHarry, a writer and real estate broker, in May 2023. Williams' Happy Days co-star, Don Most, who played Ralph Malph, was Williams' best man.
Speaking with People about the intimate ceremony, which took place at the couple's home in Ojai, California, Williams said, “Let's make it a wedding just where it's about togetherness with our friends. It's not over the top, but at the same time, it's memorable and special.”
The home where the wedding took place was actually sold to Williams by MaHarry when they first met years earlier. While the ceremony was a more down-to-earth affair than most, Williams and MaHarry still had around 150 guests at their wedding.
Williams shared his thoughts on hosting a wedding at home, saying, “I will tell people, ‘It's wonderful. Don't ever do it.' You have no idea the complexity that happens.”
He happily dubbed the nuptials, however, “a new beginning with energy and commitment and originality.”
On the big day, Williams wore a traditional black suit with a light blue shirt and tie underneath, while MaHarry wore a light blue dress with sheer sleeves, covered in gorgeous flowery embellishments and embroidery. She accessorized it with a stunning tiara on top of her head.
Along with the traditional vows, the couple read personal messages to one another during the ceremony. MaHarry explained, "I wrote kind of a synopsis of where I was when I met Anson."
When the couple first met, MaHarry was mourning the loss of her previous husband and recovering from an injury. She said, "I've never been in such a dark place. And he completely turned that around. It was like a gift from God that I met him.”
When the two first started dating, Williams had recently divorced his wife of 30 years, Jackie Gerken.
Williams said of finding love again with MaHarry: “At this age, to be able to find that kind of full connection for the first time, and what that means — it's a miracle. I would trade my stardom, notoriety, all that bologna for Sharon in a minute.”
While Williams and MaHarry first met 13 years ago, they finally got together in 2019 and found their happily ever after.
