Harry and Meghan Reportedly Want to Edit Out Comments About Royals in Their Docuseries

Sounds like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are eager to make some last-minute changes to their upcoming projects following Queen Elizabeth II's passing. In addition to Harry's bombshell memoir (which has been pushed back to 2023 out of respect for the Queen), the couple's Netflix docuseries is expected to drop in the coming months. But Page Six spoke to multiple insiders who claim Meghan and Harry are making a "dramatic u-turn" on both projects.

When it comes to the docuseries, Netflix was initially hoping for a December premiere tied to The Crown's fifth season (which is dropping in November). However, Meghan and Harry reportedly want to make edits to the show, meaning the release could be pushed back to next year.

“Netflix has been keen to have the show ready to stream for December," one source told Page Six. "There’s a lot of pressure on (Netflix CEO) Ted Sarandos who has the relationship with Harry and Meghan, to get this show finished.”

Page Six also notes that the Sussexes are "keen to take out or downplay" much of what they've said about royals including King Charles, his wife Queen Consort Camilla, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, the new Prince and Princess of Wales.

“A lot of conversations are happening," a source told the outlet, adding, "I hear that Harry and Meghan want the series to be held until next year, they want to stall. I wonder if the show could even be dead in the water at this point, do Harry and Meghan just want to shelve this thing?”

It's unclear why Harry and Meghan are so eager to make these changes, but Page Six's report comes amid claims that King Charles is waiting to make decisions about Archie and Lilibet's titles until after the memoir and docuseries. A source recently confirmed this to Vanity Fair royal expert Katie Nicholl, saying decisions on titles depend on "what happens in the coming months, particularly with Harry’s book and their TV show.”
