Harry and William to Put on “Carefully Choreographed Show of Unity” at Diana’s Statue Unveiling

Another royal update for ya! Prince Harry is about to head back to the UK for Princess Diana’s statue unveiling at Kensington Palace on July 1, which he organized alongside Prince William. And while the brothers are coming together for the unveiling, the event is taking place amid heightened tension between Prince Harry and the rest of the royals following fallout from his and Meghan’s bombshell Oprah interview.

According to Vanity Fair’s royal reporter Katie Nicholl, Harry and William have talked recently, but things remain...tense. “There have been conversations after Lili was born and to make plans for next week,” a mutual friend explained. “But things are still very strained.”

Per Nicholl, the brothers have “agreed to a truce” amid Harry’s visit so that the statue unveiling is a tension-free event, with a source saying, “They know the eyes of the world will be on them—watching their every move—so what you will see is a carefully choreographed show of unity for that day, at least.”

The Queen has also reportedly invited Harry for lunch at Windsor Castle, but royal author Ingrid Seward notes that “she does not like confrontation,” so the meeting should be drama-free.

FYI, there was also some speculation that Harry could fly back to the UK with his son Archie, but a friend tells Vanity Fair that he’ll make the trip himself, explaining, “Meghan will stay at home with the children. Harry is flying alone.” A source previously confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that “Meghan has just had a baby and has no plans to travel to London for the memorial event planned for the statue unveiling in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.”

Makes sense!
