Harvard Grad Reminds Us All That Dreams Can Come True
According to his Facebook postings, Shannon Lytle has come a long way in the last five years. After arriving at Harvard University “a poor boy from Ohio with 120 dollars to my name,” the computer science student has recently taken off into Internet stardom.
Earlier this week Lytle posted a message on Facebook detailing his travails and journey to graduate from one of the nation’s most prestiged institutions and his conversation seems to be resonating. His Facebook post has been shared nearly 200,000 times and inspired a good 300 messages of encouragement, gratitude, and adoration.
According to Lytle’s own posting, he “scrubbed toilets, shelved books, and sold clothing” so he could chase his dreams and they’ve all come to fruition now that he’s graduated from Harvard.
Followers on social media responded with fervor:
“Congratulations on reaching this milestone in your life! Your story is inspiring! Wish you all the best in the future!” wrote one follower, Jackie Bell. Another follower, Ann Belser wrote, “Mazel Tov… but this is just the beginning of the grand adventure of your life. Live it fully and happily. I wish you all good things.”
