'Hawaii Five-0' Star Daniel Dae Kim Swears by This Post-Workout Product

Actor Daniel Dae Kim is known for starring in a myriad of projects, including the fan-favorite TV shows Lost, Hawaii Five-0 and The Good Doctor. And his work schedule certainly isn't slowing down anytime soon: He's also starring in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender. As busy as he is, Daniel is all about making sure he stays active even when he's not on set.

Good Housekeeping caught up with the actor, who is partnering with Advil, to talk about his daily routine and the products he uses to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. From his favorite fitness accessory to his post-workout recovery staple, the 56-year-old revealed his top wellness picks. Plus, he shared his skincare routine with us — including what he uses to protect himself from the Hawaiian sun!

Targeted Relief Pain Relieving Cream

As someone who enjoys doing some form of exercise every day (he aims to "work out every body part"), Daniel says he's been trying to focus more on recovery. When he feels his joints aching, he uses this topical pain reliever as part of his routine.

"I've found when you're feeling pain, it's important to address it early, before it gets worse," he tells Good Housekeeping. "I try to be aware of what parts of my body need attention and apply the product as needed."

Bar Soap Facial Cleanser

Daniel credits his wife Mia for helping him create a skincare regimen, along with "any kind of benefits [he] enjoys" from it. She introduced him to this bar soap that's been a staple in his routine for almost 30 years.

"I carry it with me when I travel because it's incredibly mild," he reveals. "It's very gentle, but cleanses my skin really well."

Skin Bath Wash Cloth

No matter where Daniel is located for work, he likes to incorporate this washcloth (along with bar soap) into his shower routine.

"It's a nylon skin bath washcloth – it's not gentle to the touch, it's very rough," he explains. "It's actually a little bit like sandpaper, but it really sloughs off those excess layers of skin."

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Since Daniel's schedule can be irregular while working on set, he reaches for one of these protein bars as a quick way to satisfy his hunger.

"I look for healthy snacks to keep me going in between meals, like protein bars," he says. "It's a good way of keeping my energy up and my mind clear."

While working out, Daniel is big on making sure to keep his wellness goals in mind. That's when he turns to his fitness tracker, which he says "measures my steps and gives me real-time diagnostics on how I'm doing."
