I Heart Cookie traveling through Ohio brings its sweets to Fremont
FREMONT - I Heart Cookies Co, the well-known food truck company based in Wichita, Kansas, made an appearance Wednesday at Lowes, 1952 North Ohio 53.
The event’s highlight was the presence of Bumblebee the Transformer, who attracted a large crowd despite the rainy weather. Attendees also had the opportunity to taste the company's famous deep-dish cookies, freshly made daily.
Chasity Stanley attended the event with her children, Lorenzo, Aubrielle, and Camree, and shared her enthusiasm about the occasion.
"I came across the event post on Facebook, and my son is a huge fan of Bumblebee, and my other kids also find him fascinating," she said.
Many people attended to enjoy the different cookie flavors and the Transformers, who appeared for 30 minutes every hour until 7 p.m.
The Transformers are a big draw for cookie company
Ian Young, an employee of I Heart Cookies Co., said the inspiration behind having Transformers at the event.
"My boss saw Transformers sitting outside a warehouse and got the idea to have them at our events. Since then, we have included them in every event we attend, traveling all over the country," he said.
I Heart Cookies Co.'s deep-dish cookies food truck travels across the country. Currently, it as three trucks traveling the United States, with plans to recruite more.
The trucks have different themes, such as Transformers, dinosaur raptors and baby puppet dinosaurs.
Every year, the truck takes about a year to complete its journey and return to Ohio. As part of the annual tradition, various themed events are held and a different selection of cookies enhance the experience.
"We are known for having the best cookies in the U.S.," Young said.
Man made second trip to area for more cookies
“I was in Clyde the other day and got some cookies, and I had to come get some more. They are so very delicious,” said Sam Riley from Port Clinton.
The cookie flavors are Snickerdoodle Cinnamon Roll, Milk Chocolate Chip, French Toast, Peanut Butter Brownie, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Oreo Brownie, and Dirt N’ Worms. The cookies are on sale for six for $25 and eight for $35.
The I Heart Truck will make stops Thursday in Sandusky, Friday in Huron, Saturday in Vermillion, Sunday in Medina, Monday in Oberlin and Tuesday in Wooster.
