Latvian Photographer Evija Laivina creepy and surreal series "Beauty Warriors" highlights the (often semi-torturous) tools sold on the internet to make human faces more "perfect."

"To be successful, you must be perfect and look perfect - these are our society's rules, which we all follow without even realizing how ridiculous the standards are," Laivina writes on her website.

The results are ... upsetting. From contraptions meant to get rid of double chins, to lip plumpers, to nose "fixers" - there's no shortage of bizarre tools meant to alter our faces.

The ridiculous things people - women, mostly - spend money on in the name of some arbitrary beauty standard is sad. I mean, it's our money, and we can do what we want with it, but at the end of the day, it would be very cool if these items didn't exist.
