Heat 2 Rumored To Begin Filming This Year
Heat 2 is Michael Mann's next movie, and things are amping up as he revealed to Clayton Davis at Variety that filming is imminent.
He told the publication that plans are in place for a 2024 shoot, calling the film both a "prequel and sequel" to his 1995 picture.
There is currently little more out there about the film, just that it "gives the background and conclusion of the major characters' story", and rumors are buzzing that Adam Driver will play a Young Neil McCauley.
While Mann may not have shared any further tidbits about Heat 2, he did reveal that during the filming of Heat, Val Kilmer "would have seven or eight different reactions and modalities" during their scene analysis.
Mann said, "every one of which was great", complimenting Kilmer, saying, "I couldn't imagine having such artistic range and depth — more than it's possible to control".
Heat starred Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore, Diane Venora, Amy Brenneman and Ashley Judd in the story of a group of high-end professional thieves who start to feel the heat from the LAPD when they unknowingly leave a verbal clue at their latest heist.
