How Heidi Klum Feels About Daughter Leni's Modeling Career
Leni is pursuing modeling while studying interior design in college.
Heidi Klum is opening up about her 18-year-old daughter Leni's modeling career.
PEOPLE caught up with the model, 49, on the Kids' Choice Awards red carpet where she gushed over her daughter and her career choice.
"I'm very proud of my daughter and her modeling," Klum said, adding, "And she's studying at the same time, she's juggling already."
In addition to Leni's modeling ambitions, she is also attending college in New York City with a focus on interior design.
Leni's most recent gig included the cover of Flaunt Magazine, which she shot in Los Angeles during a break from school over the holidays.
Leni told the magazine that she believes she's doing a good job balancing being a college student while also following her passion.
“I wanted to do the whole college experience. But I also love working, so I’m trying to balance both. So far, so good," she said, adding that work is her favorite. “It’s my happy place."
The 18-year-old also opened up about following in the footsteps of her supermodel mother, and what led her to find her passion being in front of the camera.
“I do what I love, she does what she loves,” Leni told the magazine, adding, “We have different interests, but modeling happens to be one of the things we have in common.”
“I would go to my mom’s work all the time—it was the most interesting thing to me,” she recalled. “I watched her work and thought, ‘This is so fun, it’s so exciting. This is what I want to do,'" she said.
Leni made her modeling debut with her mom on the Vogue Germany cover when she was just 16 years old for their January/February 2021 cover. Since then, Leni and Heidi have done other photoshoots together, including the mother-daughter duo's Intimissimi photoshoot in October 2022.
