Hello? Is It Lionel Richie’s New Home Goods Collection You’re Looking For?
It’s only January 8th, and already, all our prayers for 2016 have been answered: Lionel Richie is taking a break from Dancing On the Ceiling and launching a line of home goods.
According to WWD, the collection, which is two years in the making, includes everything you need to host a Lionel Richie-infused dinner party All Night Long: glassware, dinnerware, scented candles, vases, and more. Prices range from $56 to $1,500.
Richie held an event for the collection—attended by stars like Kevin Spacey, Richie’s daughter Nicole, and her husband Joel Madden—at his own home in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.
Though Nicole doesn’t have an official role in her dad’s new business endeavor, Richie says her opinion is of the utmost importance. “Nicole came over and whispered in my ear, ‘Oh my God, this is good Dad,’” he says. “This is the first time she’s seen it, and I got the little pat on the back, which is very comforting because she’s a tough cookie.”
In the future, the ‘80s pop star tells WWD that he plans to introduce two more collections—Lionel Richie Loft and Lionel Richie Studio. “In Loft we have some things for the apartment where you actually find the fun stuff, ‘Hello, is it brie you’re looking for?’ ‘Hello, is it tea you’re looking for?’ You know that kind of stuff.”
For those who’re lacking in patience, Richie’s official website already sells a “Hello, is it tea you’re looking for?” tea pot—currently on sale for $40.
You know you want this.
