Here's how Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and more stars got glam for WrestleMania 34
On Sunday, Ronda Rousey wrestled in her first WWE match, and for the former UFC fighter, the wrestling ring is a lot different than the MMA octagon. But the biggest disparity between the two sports has to be the glitz and glam that goes into appearing on a WWE broadcast.
So what goes into their look? Ahead of WrestleMania 34, Yahoo Lifestyle got a behind the scenes peek at how the WWE Glam Squad gets its Superstars ready for the big event.
For WrestleMania, eight hair and makeup artists worked in sync to make sure everyone was camera ready. It took about 45 minutes for artists to complete a full look from start to finish. Three full-time artists travel on the road with the WWE Superstars, with co-lead artists Leslie Homan and Lindy Sue leading the charge, and even more come on board to lend a hand for more major events. Some of their favorite brands? Lime Crime for glitter, Kat Von D’s Tattoo Eyeliner, Mehron for foundation, Ash Lash and of course MAC Spray Fix.
For the WWE this is the “Year of the Women” breaking down barriers. With the recent signing of Rousey, Chief Brand Officer — Stephanie McMahon is clearly supporting the Women’s Division, which is stepping into the forefront within the WWE.
They held their first ever women’s “Royal Rumble” match on January 28th and according to the organization 40% of their audience is female. Not to mention the slew of TV shows they have outside of the WWE. From E!’s Total Divas and Total Bellas, which is returning for its third season in May, to Miz & Mrs premiering on USA Network later this year. Safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot more of these female Superstars to come.
