HGTV's Jasmine Roth Is Renting Her Huntington Beach Home Out on Airbnb
Over the summer, Jasmine Roth, her husband Brett, and their adorable baby girl Hazel packed up their belongings and moved into a new home just a few blocks away. For Roth, saying goodbye to the house she had lived in for the past seven years was no easy task. This was the first property she had ever designed and parting ways with it seemed unbearable.
"I'm very attached to the house and the thought of selling it made me so upset that I was like, I can't sell it," she told House Beautiful. So she came up with a solution that would not only let her still have access to the home, but enable the couple to profit off it: renting it out on Airbnb.
"We've never done anything like this," the HGTV star told us, "so now being able to share it with people is exciting and a little nerve wracking." The Huntington Beach property, which has been dubbed the 11st Street Retreat, will become available to rent on the platform starting October 1st, according to Roth. She’s been sharing updates over Instagram and on her blog for interested fans to follow along. Most recently, she gave fans the opportunity to have their family photos featured on the home’s gallery wall.
"I tell clients all the time don't get emotionally attached to a house. And here I did it myself," she said of her former digs. Scroll on to learn more about why Roth's former home is just so special and what exactly you can expect as a guest.
As a little background, Roth and her husband built the home from the ground up after purchasing the land in 2010. It spans 2875 square feet and can accommodate up to nine guests, according to the listing. It's the quintessential beach vacation luxury abode—with, of course, the Jasmine Roth touch.
Defined in a "California Cape Cod" style, per the listing, this four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home tastefully blends both coastal living and farmhouse style elements for a super warm and inviting style. The assortment of colorful vintage pieces are an added plus.
Behold, the DIY rope wall! That's not something you see everyday.
The home is perfect for entertaining! Enter the courtyard, where guests will find an enclosed patio with seating for 14, a gas fire pit, an outdoor tv and speakers, and a shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach.
For the avid cook, the home's chef's kitchen is equipped with a 48 inch Viking range with a griddle, double oven, and restaurant style hood.
Can you bring your dog? Of course! The home features a 200 square foot artificial turf dog run with a private entrance and a doggie door.
Peek behind the oversized barn doors to find the washer and dryer. There's also a hallway office that's perfect for working in or crafting.
The third floor is set up like its own apartment. It is equipped with a game table, a wet bar, and a roof deck that over looks the ocean.
