The Highly Anticipated $3 Thanksgiving Shortcut Trader Joe's Fans Are Stocking Up On
Trader Joe's
There’s nothing like a quick and easy dinner shortcut, and with the biggest dinner of the year less than a week away, shortcuts are truly having a moment. We’re all familiar with the usual ready-to-heat frozen array of vegetables — like Trader Joe’s legendary peas — but Thanksgiving tends to favor veggies like pumpkin, squash and sweet potatoes, which require just a bit more prep work to enjoy.
As much fun as prepping for the enormous dinner can be for the Michelin-starred chef in your life, some of us would rather spend less time fussing over getting the perfect oblique cut out of a carrot and more time enjoying the meal with family and friends. Thankfully, Trader Joe’s is here to save the day once again with a sweet potato hack we could use for the holiday and beyond.

Next to pumpkin, sweet potatoes are synonymous with the season, and while you can find them year-round, something about the holidays makes them taste...well, sweeter. Sweet as they are though, peeling a mountain of potatoes, roasting or boiling them, mashing them up, and then adding them into whatever dish we’ve chosen to make, can be pretty time-consuming. Not to mention, we still have to prep the turkey and everything else.

News of the product's launch was shared by the quirky retailer on its official Instagram account, and fans have been raving about the drop ever since. “Doing the lord's work,” said one person. “Wow! I just have to add marshmallows ??” gleefully said another.
The only downside to this incredible product is that it’s not available year-round, but the solution to that is to stock your freezer with enough to last for the year. And at just $2.99 a pack, we’ll be buying 20 at minimum.
However you choose to use this game-changer of an item, the results are sure to be delicious. But, if you prefer to peel your potatoes by hand, this $9 peeler is just the thing you need and you still might be able to save some time on prep.
