Hilaria Baldwin, 36, is on the mend after suffering a scary accident. Hilaria shared the news on Instagram, alongside a photo of her lying in bed, breastfeeding her baby Eduardo with her ankle in a cast. A pair of crutches rests next to the bed.

“I broke my ankle yesterday because you know...2020,” she wrote in the caption. Hilaria said she was out for a run when a car passed her quickly on a patch of road where there was no shoulder. Instead, there was a berm, aka a raised patch. “I ran up on to the berm to avoid the car and as I was returning to the road, I fell and broke my ankle,” she wrote. “It was silly and I’m frustrated and sad...but I’m determined to be positive and heal as quickly as possible.”

It sounds like Hilaria was actually stuck in the road, injured. She thanked someone named John, calling him “the kind man who stopped and helped me up from the road and waited with me” until her husband, Alec Baldwin came. “Forever grateful ??,” she added.

Hilaria made it clear that her recovery isn’t easy, though. “It’s hard because I can’t carry my babies—amongst so many other things.”

She also had this to say: “Reminder: if you are on a country road: don’t speed and please slow down around runners, bikers, children and go around. It’s worth the extra few seconds it takes you ??.”

Hilaria previously gave fans a heads up that she would be posting about this. “I had something sad happen to me,” she wrote in an Instagram story next to a photo of herself. “I’ll be OK, but processing it with perspective and gratitude.”

She later said that her daughter Carmen helped her bathe and took the photo. “Such a good help,” she said.

Hilaria also shared photos of a bruise and scrape on her other knee, along with sweet drawings her older kids drew on her splint.

Overall, Hilaria seems a little shocked by what happened, but it's good to see that she's largely OK.
