Hilarious And Rare Miniature Snowcat Is A Need, Not A Want

Grind Hard Plumbing Co.—a team of friends known for brewing up crazy motor vehicle concoctions—outdid themselves with a rare find this winter: a miniature snowcat.

Information about these puppies is tough to come by online, but here's what I could find: from quiet internet forums to old YouTube videos, the consensus seems to be that they're called Arctic Cat Quad Tracs, and were produced in limited numbers throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s.

As one of the Grind Hard Plumbing Co. guys notes in the longer video about the mini snowcat, they're equally difficult to find and purchase in real life.

In the caption to said video, they were "planning on fully restoring the snow cat and adding a lot more horsepower to be a support vehicle in the mountains!" It's good to see the Quad Trac find a loving and capable home.

And, of course, having an excellent time during the restoration process.

I'm already fantasizing about using one of these for backcountry access. If you, too, had that thought, I found one for sale online, although it's partially disassembled and clearly needs a load of TLC.
